In the light of recent developments that I have been closely watching over on the BI Forums, I've come up with a great new idea for the mod.
If anyone's ever played a game like LOTR or some action game like that on PC, you'll know what I'm talking about.
From the development of creating a hook-DLL to run and monitor a program outside of OFP, in it. I was thinking of making one for the Ancient War Mod.
My C programming skills don't really exist, but I reckon I could churn out the basis of the .dll and have someone who's good at programming check it (so its a product of the AW Mod as supposed to someone else - but credit would of course be given).
This would be the basis for a new, easier, more effecient BattleModeTech. The main game would play as an almost exact RTS (Rome: TW, ~Craft games etc.) but would allow even more seamless switching from RTS view to 3rd/1st person.
And, when in both views, everything would be much clearer. In RTS-view, you would be able to scroll around the map and issue orders from an in-game GUI as well as shortcut keys (hotkeys etc.).
When in "Combat" view, you could use the mouse buttons to attack (as in LOTR: RotK, LOTR: TT etc.). So left-mouse button would be like a quick, light attack; and the right mouse button would be a slower, but more powerful attack. And with various combinations of button presses, you could unleash awsome combos on your enemies. More hack'n'slash action-type-thing.
